ARLENE KENNEDY is the co-founder and artistic director of Universal Dance Designs and the world famous Kennedy Tap Company. She has performed nationally with Teddy Powell Productions for such artists as Jackie Wilson & Temptations & has danced all over Europe. Recently she was a featured performer in the opening number of the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Along with her late brother Paul Kennedy, she was instrumental in leading her students to perform across the US & internationally in hits such as Black and Blue, Bring in da Noise, Bring in da Funk, 42nd Street, Ragtime and Rockettes. Arlene and brother Paul have trained Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards, Derrick Grant, Charon Aldredge, Cyd-Glover Hill and Nicholas Sisters. She is the recipient of many awards, such as the most recent "Gregory Hines Humanitarian Award" and serves as a member of the Professional Dance Society Advisory Board. | |
